Great Find

As a lifelong fan of the band Ivy, I was thrilled to find an album that covers many of Adam Schlesinger's songs (he also fronted Fountains of Wayne, as well as other projects, but Ivy is my concern here). One of the bands who participated is Potty Mouth (originally from Massachusetts!), who covered their song "I've Got a Feeling". As always, I researched the new-to-me band, and discovered that their sound is right in my wheelhouse! So after a couple of days of listening, I bought their 2019 full-length album "SNAFU", as well as the covered Ivy song. It'll spend a lot of time in my car (especially on this four-days-off autumn interlude).

So if you are a fan of Kay Hanley/Letters to Cleo, or just any great rock band with female vocals, check out Potty Mouth. I highly recommend them, and plan to see them live whenever this COVID-19 nightmare ends.

Bandcamp Friday Part Deux

I had to go back and add another $15 worth of music to my day's hunt!

Bandcamp's #BandcampFriday event (no fees, all money direct to the artists) is a great way to get a ton of great music and support musicians who cannot tour during the Corona Virus pandemic. Social Distancing can be overcome, while helping out worthy creators.

Bandcamp Friday

Today Bandcamp is waiving all of its fees so the musicians receive 100% of all sales of their music. Naturally I've been hyping it all afternoon, and so far I've spent $34 on great new music from several old favorites and a few new finds:

I also grabbed a pair of songs from Tiny Fireflies, including the previously-available only on YouTube "Melody", and a pair from The Bilinda Butchers. Plus I'm considering a few more...

So race on over if you want to snag some great music, and help out musicians who cannot tour to support themselves during this Covid-19 pandemic.

Pandemic Note

This was going to be a year for a return to many live shows, and I had a bunch of them on my radar. Alas, the Corona Virus has put the brakes on this impulse for now. But I'll still (as always) keep the live music section updated, and try to get creative with getting access to our favorite musicians live...
