I'll paraphrase from my review on <b><a href="https://untappd.com/" target="_blank">Untappd</a></b>.</p><p>The beer has a piney scent and flavor, but it's not super bitter. There is a floral aftertaste which is faint but quite pleasing. And the 6.9% ABV doesn't hit you all at once, nor is there a boozy note to be found. I like it. And since I haven't been to the Ale House since it began making beer to take home, or hung out with Jay in awhile, perhaps it's time to have a few from the tap sometime this year...<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUDMUH95FNAkLkRLJZ72P-h19-SWVELKCJEF30NusH1YaKk2EPQJIf9BMJWL1TumZOOCJ_EYXa5_U3C9e4mUCu-wbaIBdZTcNZ2oFpvgcGO_ONuBKhIctI7KC3bA9Ug0-J9Gv6pVg2_kBLBpzU1EcCNf4VdEJc_1mOgfMgnLY7kU3EMaNCH1ufRSSMTzyD/s2016/moon%20hill%20-%20atlantic%20fog.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2016" data-original-width="1512" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUDMUH95FNAkLkRLJZ72P-h19-SWVELKCJEF30NusH1YaKk2EPQJIf9BMJWL1TumZOOCJ_EYXa5_U3C9e4mUCu-wbaIBdZTcNZ2oFpvgcGO_ONuBKhIctI7KC3bA9Ug0-J9Gv6pVg2_kBLBpzU1EcCNf4VdEJc_1mOgfMgnLY7kU3EMaNCH1ufRSSMTzyD/w300-h400/moon%20hill%20-%20atlantic%20fog.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Kenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07974196855292691186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9047968562497497287.post-35456851747046298562024-01-09T18:31:00.004-05:002024-01-09T18:31:44.523-05:00BEER - Star Gazer IPA<p>My first beer of the new year is <b><i>Star Gazer IPA</i></b> from <b><a href="http://www.elementbeer.com/" target="_blank">Element Brewing Company</a></b> out of Millers Falls, MA. It's flavor profile is rather muted, with nothing too outstanding. That being said, it's a pleasant drinking experience. I'd put it on the list of beers I wouldn't necessarily seek out, but that I'd order if it was on tap somewhere, because it won't steal focus from the meal, and would probably pair well with most pub fare.<br /></p>Kenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07974196855292691186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9047968562497497287.post-22386681275475016582023-12-31T23:30:00.007-05:002024-01-09T18:41:57.402-05:00BEER - Half Light Sunbeam IPA<p style="text-align: center;">For my final beer of 2023, I ended on a super high note!</p><p style="text-align: left;">The fantastic <b><i>Half-Light Sunbeam IPA</i></b> hails from <b><a href="https://www.brickandfeatherbrewery.com/" target="_blank">Brick & Feather Brewery</a></b> out of Turners Falls, MA.</p><p style="text-align: left;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXgiQQT3eQhck9JrClkUSmC6HfBCAV33qMI9Nq0IpjBSdhdihHpFKHoefOpSUD1mlXVw4AFRNKGVmz9vWf_3ANSjaCyIPnVnr8bXedm02zEcc8WMV5CFeEU2cra2zqArPpyOqu8s6cZd0XnAhvJ4U2B66VqBI1UyenoqvsHwIx0GDRIfkpNy3KspwZyJwb/s2016/BnF%20Half-Light%20Sunbeam.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2016" data-original-width="1512" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXgiQQT3eQhck9JrClkUSmC6HfBCAV33qMI9Nq0IpjBSdhdihHpFKHoefOpSUD1mlXVw4AFRNKGVmz9vWf_3ANSjaCyIPnVnr8bXedm02zEcc8WMV5CFeEU2cra2zqArPpyOqu8s6cZd0XnAhvJ4U2B66VqBI1UyenoqvsHwIx0GDRIfkpNy3KspwZyJwb/w300-h400/BnF%20Half-Light%20Sunbeam.jpeg" width="300" /></a> <br /></div><p></p><p style="text-align: left;">The beer is light, fresh, citrusy and very hazy. With its red leather booths beyond the main bar, exotic lighting, and being not very crowded, it was a worthy alternative to Saloon, with a similar drinks menu. The girls were all enamored with the selection and the ambiance, and it was cool to have them see one of the newer hang outs of the <i>Not Lame Minus</i> crew. They each tried something different (for their first round - I was the driver), and I, not being a big spirits drinker, chose a <b><i>Velvet Crush </i></b>(rum, spiced pear, lemon, velvet falernum, and amaretto) which was very good, and I'd definitely have again. And for a 6.9% ABV, the booze didn't register at all. Light and breezy, the beer goes down smoothly with a pleasing aftertaste. A nice blend of Citra and Amarillo hops. Next time I'll snag it in a 4-pack of fresh cans, which is actually a better value than the small growler. A very good IPA.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOuMTli2u6iCEQrJSJ4qhr-icj4PTwR08yMzh1Ta31RPsM7-dQCQR0w5nCST8n3YzQV8Xm67b5UWG6HlvaYtI7aS3EFEiFXb3w0CXxEv0Ot3SGYUiB3lijcwO3EvqQDZAsXBuxsr2CXginkodHPEXIE1yFLJmlbwBYC1mLIcl7oLGEIRA1WQEp_GO-unLS/s2016/Sterling%20St%20Otherwise.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2016" data-original-width="1512" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOuMTli2u6iCEQrJSJ4qhr-icj4PTwR08yMzh1Ta31RPsM7-dQCQR0w5nCST8n3YzQV8Xm67b5UWG6HlvaYtI7aS3EFEiFXb3w0CXxEv0Ot3SGYUiB3lijcwO3EvqQDZAsXBuxsr2CXginkodHPEXIE1yFLJmlbwBYC1mLIcl7oLGEIRA1WQEp_GO-unLS/w300-h400/Sterling%20St%20Otherwise.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Kenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07974196855292691186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9047968562497497287.post-5524865895197147562023-10-24T22:00:00.001-04:002023-10-30T12:19:02.788-04:00Sterling Street Brewery<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2ogF4mpWWsbePCnhxjrd8bUErcuJRNxgxGvIj1W2vf8XvGNbqwpgfC8CsckOBVVGOwIjPo07GvMIPA6X0L03oyVcuSP_weNEyFEQH5NPjYj2VkBpNnOdOw0MiL5WS3kg7HOGuWx4rur0xTTa8jTidNcvXsby5MdC41Ma_0v3sDZWWHEPSEHctkbc-czd-/s2016/image3.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2016" data-original-width="1512" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2ogF4mpWWsbePCnhxjrd8bUErcuJRNxgxGvIj1W2vf8XvGNbqwpgfC8CsckOBVVGOwIjPo07GvMIPA6X0L03oyVcuSP_weNEyFEQH5NPjYj2VkBpNnOdOw0MiL5WS3kg7HOGuWx4rur0xTTa8jTidNcvXsby5MdC41Ma_0v3sDZWWHEPSEHctkbc-czd-/w300-h400/image3.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div><p>I had today off, and was running errands in the area anyway, so I decided to check out Clinton, MA's <b><a href="https://www.sterlingstreetbrewery.com/" target="_blank">Sterling Street Brewery</a></b>.</p><p>I had a pint of their <b><i>Down With the PumpKIN'</i></b> pumpkin spice ale, and at the bartender's suggestion I forewent the cinnamon/sugar rim (which would have been my inclination as well). It had a nice 'wild grape peel' and citrus scent, was very smooth, and tasted very decent, but it wasn't super-remarkable. Very good, but not great. I'd buy it again if there was nothing more interesting available, but I wouldn't make a special trip for it as I have in the past for that brewery's <b><i>Tiny Hat IPA</i></b> (SO amazing) or <b><i>I'm a Radio IPA</i></b>.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtlky_fuBxYJQmciY-ZnrEENV8euPDoNN-eQDtM6DEEBYBm5VT_RSAAJIAPi2m-WbB9wiJNSMVGAeJmXV_KAvE3V-dDug3NB4yev1NvjyScuGt0g4K3FRp-pVLwBHwCvXY6MghVQ8ZlCT8uigN6Jm7Qmak5tkACJJfuiRR--atD8MfW-53-_3WOvhL2Q/s2016/ZG%20Powder%20Jones%20IPA.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2016" data-original-width="1512" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtlky_fuBxYJQmciY-ZnrEENV8euPDoNN-eQDtM6DEEBYBm5VT_RSAAJIAPi2m-WbB9wiJNSMVGAeJmXV_KAvE3V-dDug3NB4yev1NvjyScuGt0g4K3FRp-pVLwBHwCvXY6MghVQ8ZlCT8uigN6Jm7Qmak5tkACJJfuiRR--atD8MfW-53-_3WOvhL2Q/w300-h400/ZG%20Powder%20Jones%20IPA.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Kenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07974196855292691186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9047968562497497287.post-4629615366131344392023-01-08T17:41:00.002-05:002023-01-08T17:41:23.723-05:00BEER - The Last Supper<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0Xdh6XY3-dPuq6nutSpquS8qVgh2yY5Sw422K-QOXPVkFsyjBF1Un593XYuQD3KPcFKcyJlCwsERRk2832p55qqbi7UDz2DTDCqT7NUstQgMrcgj3n2-5ZPXq9_zIaiUqh6_nlek4vJE1mHZkw0-fa4qkCI8v3nuOEO4Kchm_OSJqmKfSWvsamGCYvA/s1629/Last%20Supper%20Triple%20IPA.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1098" data-original-width="1629" height="270" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0Xdh6XY3-dPuq6nutSpquS8qVgh2yY5Sw422K-QOXPVkFsyjBF1Un593XYuQD3KPcFKcyJlCwsERRk2832p55qqbi7UDz2DTDCqT7NUstQgMrcgj3n2-5ZPXq9_zIaiUqh6_nlek4vJE1mHZkw0-fa4qkCI8v3nuOEO4Kchm_OSJqmKfSWvsamGCYvA/w400-h270/Last%20Supper%20Triple%20IPA.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I got a 4-pack of a triple IPA called <b><i>The Last Supper</i></b> from <b><a href="https://www.shire.beer/#" target="_blank">Shire Brew-Hous</a></b> out of Dalton, MA (visited in 2022, see a previous post)</div><br /><div>The scent when the can was popped is fantastic. The flavor, citrusy and also piney, was sadly overwhelmed by the booziness of the beer (alcohol-forward). So while the beer is delicious, it is very strong, and hits you rather quickly! My ears were going numb halfway through the first can, and over the night I had three. I drank them slowly, and mostly enjoyed the experience, but I don't think it's going into my rotation. <u>Advice</u>: eat something salty as you drink. I had some amazing blue tortilla chips from <b><a href="https://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/" target="_blank">Whole Foods'</a></b> own label, and they paired perfectly.</div>Kenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07974196855292691186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9047968562497497287.post-27239123031849332402022-12-22T16:02:00.002-05:002022-12-22T16:02:57.461-05:00Christmas (and other) Music - SomaFM<p>If you want some interesting Chrismas music to stream, check out my longtime favorite site, based out of San Francisco, <b><a href="https://somafm.com/" target="_blank">SomaFM</a></b>.</p><p>My favorite stations are <b><i>Groove Salad</i></b>, <b><i>Deep Space One</i></b>, <b><i>LUSH</i></b>, and <b><i>Beat Blender</i></b>, though currently I am all about <b><i>Department Store Christmas</i></b>. I've been a fan of Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, Pale Saints, Lush, An April March, My Bloody Valentine, et. al. since my college days.</p><p style="text-align: center;">Needless to say I was thrilled to discover <b><a href="https://decayfm.com/" target="_blank">DKFM Shoegaze Radio</a></b>!</p><p>I was on <b><a href="https://bandcamp.com/kenozoic/wishlist" target="_blank">Bandcamp</a></b> last night looking around for new stuff to add to my wishlist, and during the hunt I was redirected to DKFM, and I immediately saved the bookmark. There is nothing quite like a random playlist of a musical style one loves. It's almost like rummaging through a used record store, but without the travel and laying out of money. Don't get me wrong, one of my favorite pastimes is finding a used record store in which to spend an hour or two! Needless to say, my life just got a little bit better...</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnHlvkmbaeKp9QAgL_Ol9QmRGKe604b-Y2ucSMXvQMxDUHQY-4MmiPk9fEZQbmSGTeZ60UCIw4XkRW9V1QoPP4IqrHPDzrIfqYXXdn8QDHtSHX7FSH6KAI_JSaADsdecmcPM70zdFCc3CkzHBWU5tWgEei-iH_pP-SGNAwuSeYf-bS-4Tuwr_2IS8m9Q/s553/DKFM%20radio%20mug.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="526" data-original-width="553" height="380" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnHlvkmbaeKp9QAgL_Ol9QmRGKe604b-Y2ucSMXvQMxDUHQY-4MmiPk9fEZQbmSGTeZ60UCIw4XkRW9V1QoPP4IqrHPDzrIfqYXXdn8QDHtSHX7FSH6KAI_JSaADsdecmcPM70zdFCc3CkzHBWU5tWgEei-iH_pP-SGNAwuSeYf-bS-4Tuwr_2IS8m9Q/w400-h380/DKFM%20radio%20mug.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Kenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07974196855292691186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9047968562497497287.post-15756927306366168992022-10-07T20:29:00.001-04:002022-10-15T20:37:38.980-04:00Autumn Beer<p>My favorite beer for all of September (and part of October) has been <b><i>Tiger Lily Double IPA</i></b> from <b><a href="https://www.berkshire-brewing.com/" target="_blank">Berkshire Brewing Company</a></b>.</p><p>It's floral scent, and hints of peach & apricot highlight this ridiculously smooth beer. Then I grabbed two seats at <b><a href="https://www.elmstreettaproom.com/" target="_blank">Elm Street Taproom</a></b>'s bar, ordered a decent <b><i>A Little Rain IPA</i></b> from <b><a href="https://www.smallchangebrewing.com/" target="_blank">Small Change Brewing Company</a></b>, and waited for Brian's arrival. We got dinner: I had the Double Skinny Burger and waffle fries, and he got a BBQ Chicken Sandwich to go along with his <b><i>Old Fashioned</i></b>. I had another beer, and around 7:00 we headed out to find another place to hang out until Gavin could meet us around 9:00 pm.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8cy_a_it4nqwPhRou33LQJA27DzjB-S6FEa6-85EHWiH1BKdZ551Ji4ttoO85R1klXJXZ03PFGWUC-Fw79oIsxxdXi3XuaOpkhzbtRMh2tq1wHEtyrR5r5j4FO-dg7e3HnAQjw51wmtaXIS5b6ZrUVZYYaIVO5MBTdUDLh0iw_nW_doNBkC2AbKHRZg/s2016/Elm%20St%20Taproom.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2016" data-original-width="1512" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8cy_a_it4nqwPhRou33LQJA27DzjB-S6FEa6-85EHWiH1BKdZ551Ji4ttoO85R1klXJXZ03PFGWUC-Fw79oIsxxdXi3XuaOpkhzbtRMh2tq1wHEtyrR5r5j4FO-dg7e3HnAQjw51wmtaXIS5b6ZrUVZYYaIVO5MBTdUDLh0iw_nW_doNBkC2AbKHRZg/s320/Elm%20St%20Taproom.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><p>We crossed the street to go to <b><a href="http://www.burren.com/" target="_blank">The Burren</a></b>, but it was packed, so we walked a few feet to <b><a href="https://sligopubdavissq.com/?v=7516fd43adaa" target="_blank">Sligo</a></b> instead. Upon entering, I recognized it for the same dive bar I'd patronized years ago (and disliked greatly). However, as an in-between stop for one round, it was fine. Brian bought the round: a <b><i>Guinness</i></b> for himself and a serviceable <b><i>Harpoon IPA</i></b> for me. An hour passed with a decent soundtrack, the Red Sox and Celtics both playing on the televisions, and the typical smells and sounds of a dive.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0wFwAwk0hbcL_rCZOn4yu2NdHbLPr1lOSXr9nsHU6LDDdPTHDaQDq6dh35dRmAG4OqqB3my6kJHlIruxTr9uA8b7xNE__3M6Y-zZQPzsLlj4VHvMGIiVb1s4ZVJrUXxG45GFQZ9bDZCdab1kax1JaTkKedMwmHrcyTzT2EfBY9G3N0KBbpqyYucvfGQ/s2016/Sligo.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2016" data-original-width="1512" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0wFwAwk0hbcL_rCZOn4yu2NdHbLPr1lOSXr9nsHU6LDDdPTHDaQDq6dh35dRmAG4OqqB3my6kJHlIruxTr9uA8b7xNE__3M6Y-zZQPzsLlj4VHvMGIiVb1s4ZVJrUXxG45GFQZ9bDZCdab1kax1JaTkKedMwmHrcyTzT2EfBY9G3N0KBbpqyYucvfGQ/s320/Sligo.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><p>We were going to meet Gavin at <b><a href="https://saloondavis.com/" target="_blank">Saloon</a></b>, a favorite destination of recent years, but the wait for a table was over an hour, so we opted for <b><a href="https://foundryonelm.com/" target="_blank">The Foundry</a></b> instead, where we immediately were shown to a booth even without our full party present. Brian got another Old Fashioned (which was better than the one he'd had earlier), and I decided to try a fancy drink myself. I opted for the <b><i>Float Downstream</i></b>, a tequila-based drink containing mango, pineapple and turmeric, with a 'tajin rim', whatever that was. The drink was surprisingly good. The tajin rim was not. So I drank from the other side of the glass. When Gavin arrived he also got an Old Fashioned, and when we ordered food, he got wings with some odd maple BBQ sauce, and I had the fish and chips (very good!). At around 11:45 as a group we decided to call it an evening, though Brian wanted to keep the revels going.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRTBb7sOSyMxPfSYOevzUqQs2mRipqCVoRgF9OwfVqe-uPmEtn3hVRJB4Z-6IvFpwHiDzxmj7yyilGXOHylsr4vJKKYyffDg3Z34VDyby4I9YN9zIf4ibuCuR1qhIms_Xug7UurO79Y3iFJ-2AhIbOFrLwAzCLEqxwHaa9ZWqQMP12HCofCoFOvH6eDw/s2016/Foundry%202.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2016" data-original-width="1512" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRTBb7sOSyMxPfSYOevzUqQs2mRipqCVoRgF9OwfVqe-uPmEtn3hVRJB4Z-6IvFpwHiDzxmj7yyilGXOHylsr4vJKKYyffDg3Z34VDyby4I9YN9zIf4ibuCuR1qhIms_Xug7UurO79Y3iFJ-2AhIbOFrLwAzCLEqxwHaa9ZWqQMP12HCofCoFOvH6eDw/s320/Foundry%202.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjbF3cWe6aGUN6ZJLve2Fxe-bodB4UdZYjHg0JtfheCqBcvvtmKPmyzCWwlqlOgoUnLLsd_-5DUFADzJ8TG9umC3sZv04A9Lu6y73JqKbcZWM81zTtQlwhYddeokIZ7LJpL3NIVrkNJiAe8KtHpv7gV1xVHn3RHaMtH6DFgQMBTvJUDXSsBUilllCPog/s2016/Foundry%204.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1380" data-original-width="2016" height="219" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjbF3cWe6aGUN6ZJLve2Fxe-bodB4UdZYjHg0JtfheCqBcvvtmKPmyzCWwlqlOgoUnLLsd_-5DUFADzJ8TG9umC3sZv04A9Lu6y73JqKbcZWM81zTtQlwhYddeokIZ7LJpL3NIVrkNJiAe8KtHpv7gV1xVHn3RHaMtH6DFgQMBTvJUDXSsBUilllCPog/s320/Foundry%204.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;">Another fun night in the books, with plans to meet up again in a few weeks...</span></div>Kenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07974196855292691186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9047968562497497287.post-61820709255402302562022-04-01T13:36:00.000-04:002022-04-01T13:36:03.113-04:00Beer - Took a Boat to Church<p>I grabbed a couple of four packs of beer from the local liquor store, and one of them was <b><i>Took a Boat to Church IPA</i></b> (Citra & Strata hops, double dry hopped) from <b><a href="https://www.shire.beer/#" target="_blank">Shire Breu-Hous</a></b> out of Dalton, MA. It is exactly what I want from an IPA: super hazy with a bit of a bite, and seeds at the bottom of the can or glass. At 6.5% ABV, it actually hits a bit stronger, but the flavor makes it worth it. Highly recommended. I only had one last night, so that means there are three left for future fun!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnTcRdhudlp8uPDbLxa-FC4nnvuHb_LbPXj9LVCJUT5ElCsmelJv2I4q1x53fRZwA61Mp6Xv8wL8_e_pY8jccThoitZib2YjuLxi93iPYV9PxNcvuZYIZYs3Q7WR1BnEjSXJzfXG6wYRnrOozX5YQJJs15l9BTNFv-ul7g-TAbVJAKdKtcVIzUPyXR8Q/s1629/image4.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1629" data-original-width="1512" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnTcRdhudlp8uPDbLxa-FC4nnvuHb_LbPXj9LVCJUT5ElCsmelJv2I4q1x53fRZwA61Mp6Xv8wL8_e_pY8jccThoitZib2YjuLxi93iPYV9PxNcvuZYIZYs3Q7WR1BnEjSXJzfXG6wYRnrOozX5YQJJs15l9BTNFv-ul7g-TAbVJAKdKtcVIzUPyXR8Q/w371-h400/image4.jpeg" width="371" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Kenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07974196855292691186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9047968562497497287.post-25094247792214440592022-03-24T23:30:00.002-04:002022-04-01T13:36:24.361-04:00Beer - Greater Good - GreylockI am not a fan of Imperial IPAs becasue they are too 'boozy' and less 'beery'. However, <b><i>Greylock Imperial IPA</i></b> from <a href="https://greatergoodimperials.com/" target="_blank"><b>Greater Good Imperial Brewery</b></a> out of Worcester, MA is an exception. It has a faint whiff of alcohol, but it goes down very smoothly, and doesn't leave one with a headache later (after one can). It's not really my style, but it's a good beer.
